The same full day in Wilpattu and the same two nights at our own resort as the Classic package, without the afternoon tour or the dinners. It suits travellers who reach Anuradhapura late in the day, have already seen the ancient city, or would rather rest before a 5:00 AM start.
Check in from 2:00 PM and the rest of the day is yours. The next morning our car collects you at the resort at 5:00 AM and drives the hour or so to Wilpattu, where your safari jeep is waiting at the park entrance. Breakfast and lunch are packed and eaten out in the park. You come back to the same room for a second night, then have breakfast before you leave.

Arrival & check-in
Day 1Check in to our Goalma resort from 2:00 PM. The afternoon and evening are yours: rest before the early start, or go out and eat wherever you like. No tour and no dinner are included today.

Full-day Wilpattu safari
Day 2Our car collects you at the resort at 5:00 AM and drives the hour or so to the park entrance near Nochchiyagama, where you transfer to your safari jeep in time for the best light and the most wildlife movement of the day. Breakfast and lunch are packed and eaten out in the park. You are back at the resort in the evening; dinner is not included.

Day 3Breakfast at the property before you check out and carry on with your trip. We're happy to arrange onward transport or an airport transfer if you need one.

Where you'll stay
Both nights are at our own Goalma Family Resort in Anuradhapura. On safari morning our car collects you there and takes you the hour or so to Wilpattu, where your safari jeep is waiting at the park entrance.

Frequently asked questions
- How is Essentials different from the Classic package?
- It is the same two nights at our resort and the same full-day safari with car transfers, but without the first-afternoon Anuradhapura city tour or Mihintale sunset, and without dinner on either night. Breakfast on both mornings and lunch on safari day are still included.
- How much is the Essentials package?
- US$265 for two guests sharing a double room and US$425 for four guests in a family room. That is the total for the whole party, not a per-person rate, and it covers the two nights, the full-day safari with park entry, jeep and tracker, the car to and from Wilpattu, both breakfasts and the safari lunch.
- Can we add a tour or dinner later?
- Yes. The Anuradhapura city tour and the Mihintale sunset tour can both be booked on their own, and dinner can be arranged at the property and paid separately. Tell us when you book, or message us once you are here.
